Celebrating International Women's Day 🏋️♀️
Celebrating International Women's Day (IWD)! 🏋️♀️
To celebrate IWD, I want to share with you a few websites I recently found.
Lost Women of Science 🧬
The Lost Women of Science is a non-profit organization dedicated to uncovering and sharing the forgotten stories of remarkable female scientists throughout history. I've found their website to be a fantastic resource, filled with engaging stories and materials that inspire and educate:
Podcast Series: Each season spotlights a different woman scientist whose story deserves recognition.
News & Events: I appreciate their interviews and insightful conversations about the reasons for women's contributions being historically overlooked.
Educational Resources: Their collection of digitized primary sources is something I recommend for anyone interested in deeper research.
Newsletter: I encourage subscribing to their newsletter for regular updates on their fantastic stories.
Women of NASA 🛰️
NASA's "Women at NASA" initiative celebrates the invaluable contributions of women to space exploration and aims to inspire future generations of female pioneers. The platform offers a deeper appreciation of the critical roles women have played—and continue to play—in advancing space exploration. This initiative not only honors their legacy but also motivates the next generation to reach for the stars.
Joy Machine 🎢
Joy Machine is a new gallery in Chicago's Ivring Park neighborhood. Their inaugural exhibit is about finding joy in times of uncertainty and upheaval.
This gallery will definitely be on the itinerary for my next trip to Chicago.
A Few Updates
Connecting with You
I'm exploring new ways to elevate how I share my art. First, I'd like to commit to more consistent newsletters—ideally every three weeks. My multidisciplinary work is demanding, and true leisure days are rare, but finding balance remains essential. Building a sustainable career as an artist motivates me deeply.
Second, I'm considering migrating my newsletter to Substack, where I already share Notes. Substack combines newsletters, blog posts, podcasts, video tools, payment system, and a customer support team in one seamless platform. Migration should be straightforward and help me connect better with you.
Prints!
Prints are coming! I'm currently working on the e-commerce section of my website and integrating the printer's API. It's a medium priority—I'll keep you updated.
In the meantime, a few select smaller works are already available for purchase on my website.
As you celebrate women today, remember to be encouraging and to congratulate us on our achievements. Share our stories, proudly. When our voices resonate clearly, we empower each other to redefine what's possible.
